As part of a month-long road trip through Eastern Canada, we have one day to spend enjoying the mountains of New Hampshire as we drive from North Conway to St Johnsbury on our way home. It will be my mom, myself and my two kids ages 6 and 7.
I'm considering the cog railway up to Mount Washington first thing in the morning -- because my son would really like it. And, maybe a visit the Flume Gorge in afternoon? But, I keep reading about so many fun things to do in this area that I'm wondering if there's something else that we all would enjoy more.
We'll be coming from Acadia NP and heading towards Ben and Jerry's. Obviously, we're just hitting the highlights :)
Adventure: Cog railway or hike Mount Jefferson if they are hearty. Kid fun: Storyland in NorthConway or my fav Santas Village a bit farther north in Jefferson. I know of some great kid hikes. Not sure of their stamina level. Ropes course: Monkey trunks. But the highlight attraction there is the mountain!
last one! Can't wait to hear about it! https://blog.trekaroo.com/top-10-things-to-do-in-n
Thanks! I had been looking at the White Mountains article for ideas, but I'll also check out the list of hikes. While my kids could easily go five miles, my mom will also be with us, and that will limit us somewhat on adventure outings and hiking.
