About Me & My Family

We are a family of four that LOVES to travel!!! Our goal in life is to see everything in the world that we possibly can. My job, as a stay-at-home mom, is to make each and every trip we take as cheap and enjoyable as possible. I do TONS of research before trips to save us the most money. I believe that any sort of travel can be done with kids of all ages. I try to include tips in my reviews that have something to do with babies/little kids, because I know I've struggled to find advice regarding attractions and babies.

We Just Got Back From
Mountain Home, AR
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Destin, Italy, Virgin Islands
A Place We'd Love To Visit
Favorite Vacation Memory
Our favorite memory was watching our daughter feed the sharks at a little hole in the wall zoo in Branson, MO. It was the cheapest little place, and looked more like a warehouse from the outside, but it was so neat! We got to feed stingrays and sharks, hold lizards and snakes, and play in a free arcade. Our then 18 month old had the time of her life!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
We rented a house at Table Rock Lake, MO last Spring. We had a wonderful time, but had some pesky neighbors! We caught them taking pictures of our daughter while she swam, then caught them on their front porch taking pictures of our license plates and my husband as he loaded up the car. We confronted them and it turned into a huge argument. Needless to say, the owner of the house heard about it from us!

Hammerhead's Bar & Grille
137 Fisherman's Cove,
Florida 32550
"Entertaining and delicious!"
Outdoor dining is always fun, but Hammerhead's is even better! Beautiful setting by the water in Baytowne Wharf. The live band was so fun to watch that there were little kids everywhere dancing. To be honest, I had so much fun watching the band and the dancers, I don't even remember what I ate or how much it cost! I'm extremely frugal though, so I know it wasn't too expensive.

Fudpucker's in Destin
20001 Emerald Coast Parkway,
"Long wait was worth it"
We went to Fudpucker's knowing we'd have to wait at least an hour to be seated. The wait was made tolerable by the small live alligators that the kids can feed and even hold. There's a neat little gift shop next door, so we walked around there too. The food wasn't anything to call home about, but the experience in general was a good one for our 10 month old.

Poppy's Seafood Factory
138 Fishermans CV,
"Not the most kid-friendly"
We ate at Poppy's because the credit card machine at Hammerhead's was down, and it was right next door. The food cost more than we wanted to spend. The food was good- no complaints there. The staff seemed a little bothered that we had a 10 month old with us. They even made us leave our (small) stroller outside. My husband also had very bad stomach problems after eating there, but that could just be because being from the Midwest, we don't get to eat fresh seafood very often!

Angler's Beachside Grill
1030 Miracle Strip Pkwy,
Fort Walton Beach,
"Perfect! We went twice!"
When looking for a family-friendly restaurant with seafood for my husband and non-seafood for me, we found ourselves at Angler's. The food was incredible! My husband tried the catch of the day, and I enjoyed a yummy chicken sandwich. We chose to eat outdoors. The staff was very quick and friendly. The prices were very reasonable and made even better with a coupon we found in a map from Destin Commons. After eating, we walked down the attached fishing pier. A herin landed near us, we saw dolphins, sharks, manta rays and a sea turtle below the pier. It was an incredible experience, which is why we went back!

Southern Star Dolphin Cruise | kids travel, kids activities
Southern Star Dolphin Cruise
100 Harbor Blvd, Suite A,
Florida 32541
"PERFECT Sunset Dolphin Cruise in Destin!"
To sum it all up in one word: WOW! I did a lot of research on sunset dolphin cruises before we went to Destin. It was a little overwhelming because there were so many to choose from. I made a decision to make reservations with Southern Star, and I was glad I did! There was plenty of seating for everyone on board, roomy bathrooms, an inside area, a glass bottom to look out of, very friendly staff, and a guarantee to see dolphins. I was a little skeptic at first, asking myself, "How can they guarantee that we see the dolphins?" They were right, though! We saw LOTS of dolphins! And the sunset was I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E! To my surprise, dolphin viewing wasn't the only activity. The kids also got to feed sea gulls and sit in the captain's seat and "steer the boat". Each kid received a certificate and pictures of them sitting in the seat. It made the trip so much more memorable. My daughter was only 10 months at the time, and she still had the time of her life.
