About Me & My Family

I live with my Husband and Daughters in sunny Oceanside, CA. We love to get out and about and see new things! I have done a lot of traveling over the years with kids, from my 2 girls, my younger brother to my little cousins and nieces. I get a kick out of surprising them with fun new things and taking them to places I enjoyed as a child.

"Great Breakfast"
If you have a taste for Bacon this is your place! The bacon sampler is great! There is usually a line for this restaurant but they move you along quickly so do not give up! If its hot wait for the indoor spots but if its a mild morning go for the patio! Try one of their delicious pastries!

"Perfect Location for a Hollywood Vacation"
Location is everything when you are looking for a city property! Hollywood and Highland is definitely an ideal location! This Loews not only offers an amazing location in the center of all that is Hollywood but the luxury accommodations make you feel like a celebrity.

The driveway was the only tricky part of the stay - be sure to pull into the Hollywood and Highland parking structure driveway but make a quick right into the hotel - it is easy to miss so be prepared! Once you have the parking situation taken care of it is smooth sailing - You are literally overlooking the most popular attractions on Hollywood Blvd. or take the metro located next to the hotel! The gorgeous pool over looks the ornate mall and the pool deck offers family friendly games. Food is available within walking distance throughout the mall, great family friendly choices are located on Hollywood Blvd,. and the onsite dining is a delicious option!

Our family stayed in a Suite - the room was spacious and had a great view over Hollywood Blvd. I loved that the bathroom had separate doors for the shower and the sink/vanity. I also enjoyed the fact the coffee machine was at the bathroom vanity. I was able to wake up, make my coffee, and take a shower without waking up anyone else!

I highly recommend this hotel if you intend to tour around Hollywood and attend Universal Studios. The metro is extremely convenient! We were able to take just a one stop ride directly to the park shuttle! On our way back to the hotel we stopped by fast food and put our feet up in the hotel room to complete our fun experience! The next morning we were able to walk over to the iconic Mel's diner and have the complete Hollywood experience! The amazing location and premier service made Loews Hollywood a great choice!

"Great Course "
This is a great course for the heat - start out early or race the sun in a twilight match. The shady spots here are plentiful and the course is well kept. Kids will be able to keep up with the pace of the course and there is even a bit of history to learn about the surrounding properties.

"Excellent Hike for All Ages"
A hiking trail and the museum at Tahquitz Canyon is a great place to start for beginners. However, temperatures can get high so it is important to remember to stay hydrated. Once at the end of the trail you will be rewarded with a great waterfall! Don't miss out on the photo opportunity on the flat rock halfway to the waterfall!

"Fun for Everyone!"
This was a great stop for the entire family! We have recently entered the world of music classes and this museum was a perfect pairing with those lessons. It travels through the history of musical instruments. In each display there is a hands on section and at the end of museum there is a large collection of instruments to try.

Children are put on a scavenger hunt throughout the hotel answering questions about the exhibits. At the exit they are presented with a reward (kazoo) - my children were truly delighted and made good use of the treasure...(we had a no kazooing in the car rule)

I had a little trouble getting over the must be quiet in a museum philosophy - I had to keep reminding myself it was OK for the kids to make some noise testing the instruments. Overall, we all had a great time and we found a few new instruments we need to add to our personal collections!

I received complimentary tickets to complete the review - however all opinions expressed are my own.
