About Me & My Family

We are a busy family with 3 kids and we don't sit still. When we aren't running off to scouts, dance, sports, etc., we really enjoy spending time as a family. If we have a day we will try to find someplace local to explore. If we have a weekend we go a little further. Give us a week and we can really pack it in. We are always on the lookout for family friendly destinations (especially hotels which seem so hard to find!). Our vacations are not spent floating in the pool...they are spent exploring the area to its fullest!

Favorite Vacation Memory
My daughter is such a pip and thinks the hotel is the destination. If we do sightseeing along the way she just keeps asking "when are we going to get to the hotel?" She loves checking out our new "home away from home" and she LOVES the fact that she gets to share a room with someone!!

"A NYC Gem"
I think Central Park is truly a gem within the city.  There is so much to see and do!

We enjoyed strolling the walking paths and taking in the sights.  We stopped by Strawberry Fields, climbed Belvedere Castle to enjoy the view, and enjoyed a slower pace while being in the city.

For visiting families, there are plenty of playgrounds and programs throughout the park! Check out a discovery backpack or see a puppet show at the cottage.  You really can't be bored here in the park and it is a nice escape from the rest of the hustle and bustle around you in the city.

I have passed this builing at least a dozen times in my ventures into NYC and had never ventured in.  On this trip into the city we decided to check it out thinking it would be a quick in and out before heading to our next location but we were wrong.  We spent about an hour inside and wondered what had taken us so long to finally check this place out!

We fell in love with the beautiful architecture the moment we walked in and enjoyed exploring it all.  On the first floor there is an exhibit area which we enjoyed viewing as well as a movie on the history of the library.

If you like, there are guided tours available throughout the year that are free to the public.  We chose to wander on our own but I'm sure that the tour is full of wonderful information.
