"Decent motel close to the parks"

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian the last two years, but this year opted for the Park Vue Inn.  Like many, we chose this motel because of its location and decent rates.  It really is one of the closest to the park entrances (not quite as close as the Grand Californian), making it perfect for taking nap and rest breaks.

-Breakfast, parking and wi-fi are all included in the rate.
-We were able to park in the lot early in the morning by checking in and getting a parking pass. We left our luggage with the front desk, and they were delivered directly to our room while we were at Disneyland.
-The bunkbed was perfect for our 4 and 7 year olds. It was sturdy, and I felt comfortable with my 7 year old climbing up by herself.  Both beds also had reading lights.
-Good sized room for our family of four. For comparison, the one queen one bunkbed is 266 square feet, the two queen suite with sofa sleeper is 456 square feet, and the two queen one bunkbed (our room) is somewhere in between.
-Microwave, big fridge, and safe in the room.
-Door on our room was not spring loaded, so I didn't have to worry about the kids getting slammed in the door, and it was easier getting in and out with our luggage without having to have one foot in the door all the time.
-There is a small shop at the front of the motel with food, gifts, supplies and sundries. Very convenient when you really need aspirin!

-Old and scratchy towels!
-Old tiles and grout in the bathroom. Also, the tub drain stopper is a rubber circle that you place over the drain. It was old and discolored.
-Heating/cooling system was loud and difficult to control.
-The motel is positioned perpendicular to Harbor Blvd, so it was an extra long walk to get from our room at the end of the building to the street. Also, it's a two story building but no elevator, so those with strollers or lots of luggage may want to request a room on the ground floor.
-Housekeeping staff were always hanging around and socializing in the hallways. Very unprofessional.
-Had to pay the balance of our stay when we checked in. This wasn't explained to me by the wooden front desk staff person; she just handed me the invoice and told me to sign. I don't think this policy is written on the website either.

-Breakfast was standard fare: scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle maker, fruits, bagels and toast, yogurt, juices, milk, coffee. One day was biscuits and gravy, the next was potatoes. The breakfast room was a bit small, but they also have tables on an outdoor patio.
-Heated pool on site (we did not use).
-You can see the Disneyland fireworks from the motel. It's nice, but of course loud (heard car alarms going off with the finale!). Something to consider if you have kids that sleep before 9:30.
-Cookies available at the front desk in the afternoon. Coffee and water always available.
-I read a lot of reviews on other sites saying they had received gift baskets. I wasn't sure if it was only for special occasions, but I assume so as we did not receive anything in our room.

Overall a decedent motel with excellent location, good rates, and a comfortable stay.

I don't know why this place got bad reviews. This motel is tops for location to Disneyland and California Adventure. It's directly across from the access road running between the parks and as close as some of the Disney hotels. Our room had two doubles plus bunk beds, which was great for our family. It also had a separate sink/dressing area with a fridge and microwave. The included breakfast was not kept well stocked, and the breakfast area was over-crowded even with quite a few rooms empty for refurbishing. This could be a problem at high season, but it was nice to have something to eat before heading to the parks. There is also an IHOP right next door, a Coldstone Creamery off the lobby, and many other restaurants including McDonalds nearby. We would stay here again if visiting Disneyland for its great location.

"Location is the selling point."

As the title suggests, the location is the highest selling point of this place. It's basically neck to neck with Disneyland.
Coming into the hotel, we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and fruit, which was a nice touch. Sadly, that raised our expectations even higher which may have affected my opinion, but not likely. First, we came into the room which smelled a bit funny and it felt like the windows were shut for 2 weeks. The sheets were also a bit dirty, so we asked to get those changed. They said they'll look into it. The next day, nothing, still the same sheets. Finally, two days after, the changed them. The food was ok, nothing special, a bit cold if you're not eating at traditional times. The service was also ok, though nobody was smiling, as we got used to see in this area. However, what's great about kids is that they don't care about any of that, so if you're a bit tight on the budget, this is a place for you. You'll save more money for rides and other fun stuff and your kids will be happier.

"Park Vue Inn - Gateway to easy Disneyland access!"

The Park Vue Inn is a great place to stay if you want super close access to Disneyland and California Adventure.  It is literally across the crosswalk from the Entrance to the park.  You walk about 5 min. to get in to the park.  This is ideal if you have little ones that must nap during the afternoon!

Typical cost is between $100 and $150 a night depending on what season and what type of room you are getting.  We had a room wtih 2 queens and a bunkbed.  This is one of the few hotels where we don't have to rent 2 rooms.  Last time we stayed here we had a room with 1 queen and a bunkbed with a trundle.  I don't really recommend that room because it is really small for 5 people.  We had to step over the trundle to get into the bathroom at night.  Not a great setup.

Best features of this property include, heated pool and hot tub, free cookies when you come back from Disneyland at night (just go in the lobby to find them on the front desk), and a free continental breakfast (decent, not the best, but it will get you through the morning.  The waffles that you make yourself are pretty good. There is also cereal, bagels, yogurt, juice (not real), fruit and eggs of some sort - they switch off between bacon and sausage.  Also had hot chocolate and oatmeal).

Rooms are clean and don't smell weird.  Beds were comfortable.  There is a small safe in your room that you can use for free.  Iron and ironing board in the room as well.  Pool was nice, even in February.  Hot tub was great!  Very well kept pool area.

They are currently repainting the outside of the hotel.  They do a good job taking care of the property.  The lobby is very nice.  Wifi is included.  It's not super fast, but it usually works.  There is a laundry room on site as well as a tiny gym with an elliptical, tredmill and bicycle (just in case walking around Disneyland isn't enough for you).

Overall I give this place 4 stars.  It's a good budget hotel.  The front desk even called on our 3rd day asking if we needed anything.  They really do try hard to make this great.  Don't expect the ritz, but if you are looking for free breakfast, best location and a clean environment, this is the place!

"Park Vue Inn"

This hotel was fabulous.  They kept everything in mind for the family.  We visited during the holiday season at the end of November and right when you walk into their quaint little lobby, you can tell they took the time to decorate and make you feel like you are at home.  My kids didn't get a chance to see it, but they would have loved it!  Then you are greeted with a warm smile, juice and cookies while they look up your reservation.  Upon checking in, I was asked if we were celebrating anything special so I mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday then took my keys and went to my room, thinking nothing of it.
The rooms were perfect.  I could tell they had been updated and they were very clean.  Our room was small, but great for us, with a queen bed for my husband and I and a bunkbed for the kids.  They loved it!  There was also a lovely basket of fruit and goodies there waiting for us.  A few minutes after settling into our room, one of the staff members brought me an adorable mug filled with goodies for my birthday.  They went out of their way to make me feel special!!  Awesome!!
For the complimentary breakfast, they had a wide variety of items to choose from, and it was very good quality (meaning my picky kids actually got a good breakfast before a long day of playing).  They told me they served a complimentary light dinner as well, but we didn't check that out (but seriously awesome considering how reasonable their prices were).  They also had complimentary parking and let us leave our van there for the whole day after we checked out in the morning.  Just awesome.
The location is beyond perfect!  The crosswalk to the park is right in front of the hotel and, within minutes, you are at Disneyland.  We've done the park and ride thing at Disneyland with two little ones and a stroller before and vowed never to do it again.
I am thrilled to have found such a great hotel, that has decent rates, is in the perfect location and has a separate bed for every member of my family (because my kids don't share a bed, not gonna happen, haha!).  Then to have such a caring and awesome staff on top of that?  Perfect!  We will definitely stay there again.  I highly recommend it!!

"Disneyland Trip"

We stayed here the last week of April for my daughter's Spring Break. We have stayed at the Disneyland Hotels  before. I had a very positive experience during our stay. If Disneyland is your main purpose for your visit, then you will love its proximity to the entrance. When you come back to your room for an afternoon nap, you will find ice cold water in the lobby along with fruit & cookies for a yummy snack. My son especially loved the train that circles over the front desk which he had the honor of controlling via remote thanks to the very nice young man working the front desk! We had arrived at 1:00 & just wanted to see if a room was ready even though check in is 3:00. They had a room for us! We chose the one with bunk beds, kids LOVED it! The room was basic & clean. They offered us a welcome basket with wine or apple cider, fruit & water. Our room was on the 2nd floor & my husband, who exercises regularly anyway, had the honor of lugging our suitcases to the 2nd floor. At night, instead of staying at the park with the crowds to watch the fireworks, we simply opened our curtains (rm 207 & along that side) They have a pool & jacuzzi which was enjoyable as well. We also enjoyed their daily complimentary breakfast (make your own waffles), & also their social hour (light dinner) esp taco night which filled me up! Its also close to other restaurants if you so choose. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit!

"A decent place to stay"

The Park Vue is right across the street from Disneyland. Distance wise it's an excellent location. This hotel isn't our first choice but we will stay here if our other standbys are full. There are no elevators but there are two levels. When you reserve a room they can not guarantee you will get a first floor room. Those of you with kids and strollers know this is not convenient at all. Another issue we have had here is the plugs for the tubs are often broken. It's because of this we have started carrying one of those flat rubber drain stopper (sorry, I don't know the technical name. :) ) I would stay here in a pinch though. If you have older kids who don't need strollers and can survive taking showers rather than baths this is a good choice.

"Old Motel Recently Renovated"

This place has been around for ages.  It is a standard Anaheim motel - you will get the basics, but nothing special.  The rooms have been recently renovated, I understand.
