"Gorgeous Property"

My kids and I spent a couple of days at the Grand Hotel Marriott resting up in the middle of a ten day solo-parenting road trip adventure from Washington DC to Houston.

There are so many fun activities for kids and families at the Grand Marriott Hotel. Recently, my kids and I took some time to reflect on our visit six months ago. They remembered playing on a small mini-golf green next to a small outdoor bar/cafe. After being on the road for just about a week, casually eating my dinner while watching my kids play on the small putting green was heavenly.

The kids also enjoyed ping pong, croquet, and most of all the pool. The pool is lovely with a waterfall in the middle and a slide. Unfortunately, one of my kids was barely tall enough to go down the slide and the other was just an inch short, and the lifeguards were very strict about the height requirements. We also ate poolside at least once.

We tried to ride bikes, but with child just learning to ride with training wheels and the other totally competent, we struggled with that activity.

My kids loved the 5 or so cats that roamed around near the entrance to our building. Most were not so friendly, but one of them tolerated the attention that my kids gave it.

The parking is all outdoors. I forgot to bring in my cooler from the car. It was virtually empty. But, it never recovered from being sealed inside the car for a couple days of 100+ weather.

I will say that being a California girl at heart, I have not experienced culture shock in the US quite like I experienced at the Grand Hotel Marriott. This lovely hotel simply oozes Southern charm. The impeccable Southern manners that every other child at the resort demonstrated put my kids to shame.

We enjoyed the historic cannon demonstration one afternoon. Again, a very Southern experience. But, what kid doesn't like a canon firing?

My favorite part of the day was the sunsets. The resort faces the west, so the sun sets over the Mobile Bay. Amazing sunsets!

"Fun in the deep south"

The Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama is one of the best places to travel when you want a quiet, weekend family get away. Kids love the pool, the ocean, beaches and boating. There are fishing docks that are stocked for fishing so it is super easy to have a great time with your kids here. Adults will love the food (the Sunday brunch is great) the golfing and the shopping in near by Fairhope.

"Fabulous resort!"

What a great place to vacation with the kids! This resort is sprawling with tons of paths to walk and things to see/do. They have a fishing pier with poles and bait on hand just waiting for you and your family. Swings line the walkways along the water. They do have a small beach area and a hut to rent bicycles and other equipment. The food is fabulous anywhere on the resort and a great water fall pool. Additionally, they do have a full service spa on property as well.

"Close to nearby attractions but lots on site"

Features a golf course, spa and wellness, children's pool area and separate adult pool area, and lots of other outdoor activities.  The hotel was very nice but I never felt like my kids were not allowed.  The concierge can help set you up with a sunset cruise or a sailing outing from the hotel dock.  There is babysitting provided and a family camp.  We didn't participate in either of these because we weren't ready to leave my son with his grandparents, much less a stranger yet!  The hotel is driving distance from some great restaurants and shops in Fairhope.
