I booked this hotel for our stay in Acadia because the location looked good - not too far from Bar Harbor, not to close either. If you want to be close to Acadia NP and the convinces of Acadia NP, this is in fact a nice location.
The Acadia Inn has lots of special activities for families, including: an outdoor movie night, lawn games, a pool, a wooden playground set, easy access to bike trails, a gift shop, campfire and s'mores. We only had time to enjoy the playground - we ate our breakfast outside and let the kids play after they were done eating.
The hotel did have a busy feel during our stay. We did hear some noise from above. A tour group stayed in the hotel one night.
The breakfast was as expected for this price point. We ate bagels, cereal, yogurt, toaster waffles, bananas, and scrambled eggs.
This is certainly not the best nor most convenient choice in the area - but I would not hesitate to stay again.
