Viking load of fun
Lindsborg, Kansas (i.e. “Little Sweden USA”) is worth the stop if you have a few hours to spare. There are some great little shops, galleries and museums worth visiting and kids will enjoy spotting all of the Dala Horses in town, each decorated uniquely.
My kids’ favorite place to visit in Lindsborg is the Viking Valley Park. This fort and castle type park has something for every age group. My toddler loved playing in the tot area, complete with swings, towers and tunnels perfect for her age group. My older kids loved the big tire swing and climbing the larger towers. The park has large trees surrounding and is shaded fairly well, although the tot lot does get a bit more sun. I like how the fort area is enclosed with a fence, making parents feel more secure that they won’t lose track of one of their little ones.
If you are traveling through central Kansas, I would highly suggest visiting Lindsborg Kansas. This is a cute quaint town with a great park for kids.
