"Disappointing because it is so shabby"

The views are nice and there are lots of surf lessons, stand up paddle board, and turtle tours that start here at Haleiwa Beach, but compared to other beaches on Oahu, this one feels shabby. The bathrooms are old and dirty, the beach has more trash than others, and there are homeless people living in the trees. The one thing that is a plus for families is that the bay is protected so the waves are good for little ones.

"We love this beach"

My toddler loves this beach.  We always park parellel to the road against the rock wall and while there aren't any bathrooms nearby there is a shower to rinse off after swimming.  The waves are usually gentle enough that I can sit and enjoy the beach while my toddler can run to the water without too much worry.  Since it's near the marina my son loves to look at all the boats which is a bonus!

"Fun with the Family"

Haleiwa Beach Park is at the entrance to Haleiwa town, a few miles beyond Waimea. The park features a sandy beach, playing field, basketball courts, picnic tables, and restrooms. Jet Ski and sailboarding lessons are available nearby.
