A must see at some point

- December 2013

See Santa, Mrs. Claus, all the elves and reindeer at Santa's Villiage.  It is a must see if you are in the Torrington Area at Christmas time.  Be prepared to wait, Santa takes him time with every child so the line can move a little slow.  Hard with lots of kids to see and just one man :).  Well you are waiting if someone holds your spot in line you can sneak up back and check out the reindeers and elf cottage and get some hot chocolate.

Where Santa Lives

- December 2010

Younger children will be especially thrilled with this visit with Santa. Each child who waits in line...and there are many of them are rewarded with a chat with Santa and a real toy. My kids have gotten dolls, Beanie Babies, Matchbox cars etc. There are also other decorated out building where you can visit with Mrs. Claus and working elves. You might even score a handmade toy from one on the elves in the workshop. Outdoors are some reindeer and other themed displays. We have gone every year since the now turning 9 year old twins were 1. It has become a tradition regardless of how cold the wait might be. We also enjoy the carols, some hot chocolate and a warm fire while we are waiting. Sometime the kids have even played in the snow while waiting. If you do go, try to go late. They close the gate at 8pm and let everyone waiting in to visit with Santa. If you go early you will be standing in line for a much longer time with everyone else. Bring the jammies and make a night of it!!. Open only after Thanksgiving to Chritmas eve. Check the City of Torrington official website for further info. All visits are free, donations accepted. There is a fee for the hot chocolate. Check out the Christmas House nearby also in Torrington for a festive night out!!!
