Wagamama Blankie Ball

by: Mollieg

The Wagamama Blankie Ball is a great innovation.  It is a silk soft travel blanket that folds in on itself into a little pouch attached to one end. When rolled up, this blanket can be a ball or a pillow.  We even discovered to our suprise that it works well as a prop between the head and the frame of the car seat so baby's head doesn't fall over.

The material is SUPER soft with a satin trim. While, the sample we received was a dull brown color which were weren't too excited about, the pouch had polka dots (or pokey dots as they are called in our house).  The polka dots were a nice touch. The blanket was super easy to stuff into the little pouch if you're a mom, but it was harder for our 2.5 year old son to hold the pouch open to stuff the blanket inside.

My favorite thing about this product is that blankie part of the ball stays clean even when it has been thrown into a diaper bag/purse or is found rolling around at the bottom of our car.  The little pouch protects any dirt from getting on the blanket.  The bundled up blanket ball is pretty small and fits into your diaper bag easily.  This means you don't have to wrestle with a large blanket overwhelming your diaper bag.

My 2 year old son enjoyed using it as a pillow and ball, but was less interested in using it as a blanket. So, I used it as a blanket for the new baby instead. Compared to other blankets, I thought the color choice has odd.  Otherwise, the fact that you can ball it up into a small size and keep it clean makes it a wonderful travel baby blanket.

Priced at $32, I thought was a bit high for a baby blanket.  Although, for a print that is more to my liking, I probably would be willing to pay for it. Bottom line - I would recommend it, especially as a travel blankie for babies or toddlers who still want a blankie, but I would buy it in a more traditional color.
