Have you ever been separated from your child for even a minute? A good friend of mine lost her 2 year-old child while shopping at the mall. One minute, he was right there an the next he was gone. She ran out of the store and didn’t see him. She ran one way, yelling for him going from store to store. PANIC. How far could he have gone? FEAR. Perhaps some awful person had swooped him up. They were the two longest two minutes of her life before she finally found him in the food court.
For young children, being lost is a traumatic experience. They are usually too young or upset to properly share their parent or caregiver's name or phone number. Luckily, Michele Walsh, a mom of three invented a temporary tattoo that does the talking for them - SafetyTat. Parents can easily write their phone numbers on these temporary child id safety tattoos without worry about them being readily removed, smeared, or washed away from water.
The Original SafetyTats series are customizable online or get the Quick Stick Write-On! tattoos shipped blank for you to customize.
Recently, I received a complimentary set of Quick Stick Write-On tattoos to test. We took them for a test run on three 2 year olds and two moms.
What rocks
SafetyTat Tip
By the end of the day, the corners of our tattoo started to curl at the edges. My son and I easily peeled them off (no pain). Could be an expensive habit if you're staying at Disney for the week, but then again the safety of your child is priceless. I would recommend applying a new tattoo each day just to ensure they are secure.
Given my two year old son likes to run, I can see using this in amusement parks, water parks, sporting events, festivals, malls and big museum. I also love how SafetyTat has tattoos with special needs, emergency and allergy alerts.
