Dear all, we will be travelling from europe to SF and then doing a road trip to LA and back over 10 days. Please tell me if its easy to get the kids clothes and stuff cleaned over the days during the road trip. I am not planning to bring loads and loads of clothes. Any suggestions. thanks
Hi,
Lots of hotels have a washer and dryer room. Just ask when you make the reservation. When you are in SF, rent an apartment or home via www.vrbo.com and you will have access to a washer/dryer (and full kitchen)
Hope that helps.

I second the idea of asking the hotel. I wrongly assumed that Homewood Suites had self-serve laundry and it put us in a pinch to learn they didn't.
Cross-continental trip, how fun! Make sure you get a couple rolls of quarters for laundry. I pack a cloth laundry bag too, with plenty of plastic bags for wet stuff. If you are in one place for 2 or more days, it might be worth it to you to search for a "wash and fold" laundrymat. They wash and dry, fold for you by the pound, and sometimes can do it on the same day. Two other tips: spot remover in your carry on bag as well as a change of clothes for you, even if it's just a lightweight shirt! I also bring change of clothes for kids on the airplane... but they usually spill on ME! :o) Have fun!!!
Hi just wanted to check if I need to take wash tablets or powder or will they provide the same at the laundry.? Anything you

Most laundry facilities will sell laundry soap, softener, and dryer sheets. It is expensive, though. Usually $1 per load. It's a better idea to go to a grocery store, to pick up some detergent, especially if you have several loads.
