iphone baby monitor - what do you think of it?

There is a new iphone app called CodeGoo - an iphone app that acts a baby monitor. Place iphone next to baby. The phone senses noise from baby and calls any number that you desire. No limitations on monitor range. Ingenious? What do you guys think of this?

Wow, that's so cool. All of our kids are older now, but I would have loved that. I used to call my husband's cellphone and then leave my cellphone in a room with our sleeping babies and take the other cellphone as the "monitor." This is so cool because you get actual video coverage. I'll have to tell my iPhone mommies with babies. Thanks!

I always though that longer range baby monitors would be nice, but then again maybe all baby monitors have limited range for good reason! Nice for traveling, since you don't have to carry another item other than your cell phone(s).

That's funny. Yeah. I guess you have to put the ringer in silent mode and of course you can't use your phone. On our blog someone made to comment that they would never put a cellphone near a baby because it can cause brain tumors. What do you guys think of that?

Actually, if you already have an iphone, the application only costs $4.99. I don't think it's meant to be your regular baby monitor. Just an on the go baby monitor.

Awesome idea!!! We recently took a vacation and our baby monitor kept going in and out of range. Frustrating, annoying, and ineffective. With two little kids, we usually stay away from hotels and rent houses or apartments instead, but the iphone app could bring us back to the hotel market! The worst thing about traveling with kids when you're all staying in one room in a hotel is needing to go to bed at the same time as your kids (or reading by flashlight!). With this app, we would be able to hang out in the hotel lobby or bar, enjoy the evening, and still be just a few seconds away from our hotel room. This would make hotels "doable" for us again.
