I'm traveling alone with my 5 month old tomorrow. I've been trying to figure out how I would get around the airport with both a stroller and a rolling bag which will I'll be checking in. I can do curbside check in on the way out, but when I get there, how do I get from baggage claim to the car? Seems impossible to have to wheel two things around. Any parents out there who have done this before?
I have pulled the stroller (backwards) next to the luggage- side by side. It isn't extraordinarily graceful, but it gets the job done if you don't have too far to go.
Sorry if this reply isn't timely enough to be useful. I really liked having a stroller in airports when travelling with an infant but found the trek to the car to be difficult so what I would do would be to use the stroller to baggage claim, put a very lightweight front carrying pouch in my check bag and then once I got my bag I would put the baby in the front carrier and use either a caribiner or the strap on the top of the suitcase to hook the stroller and the baby carrier to my bag or just put the check bag in the stroller (if the stroller could hold it) and get to the car this way.
Also, take a look at the luggage carts, many of the luggage carts have a seat or a small bag place "up top" that is large enough for a baby carrier. Just put your stroller and the suitcase on the cart, infant carrier up top, and head to the car. It is worth the $3.
