My family of 7 (kids ages 1-10) dined at Yuma Landing for breakfast as part of our hotel package at the Historic Coronado Motor Hotel. The service was friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was fun and educational.
As hotel guests, we had a limited menu so I can’t say what the full menu is like, but the eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast, and bacon we had were all cooked well. The first day we ate here the bacon was a little soft for my tastes. The next day I asked for it crunchy and it was perfect. I loved having a free hotel breakfast that was cooked to order. Some of my kids chose to eat cereal but I liked that it was presented in an attractive way (see pictures).
The service here was great. The first day we came they quickly prepared our table. The second day they must have seen us coming because it was ready and waiting for us, high chair and all. Our server was patient with our children’s indecision and even made additional drink suggestions that weren’t on the menu. The food took a little longer to be ready than at a chain restaurant but it was obvious everything was cooked to order.
The best part about this restaurant is that it is also a museum. Yuma Landing is the sight of the first airplane landing in Arizona. Model airplanes hang from the ceiling in the lobby. There is a display case with artifacts from that first landing. The walls are filled with pictures, artifacts, and articles from historic Yuma. We loved explaining what the different items around the restaurant were used for to our curious kids.
If you are visiting Yuma, I would recommend stopping by here with your family for a meal and getting a quick history of Yuma.
