This is a stop worthy of your time and money just to let your kids take a photo with a giant spiny crab leg. My son was really into all the crab coming and going from the little kitchen near the seating area and I am quite a crab meat enthusiast, so Tracy's made the itinerary no problem.
This is probably not a place to eat if you want to get full -- at least if you do not want to spend quite a bit of money. We inquired about the price of an entire King crab and at that time, market price had it around $240/crab. I love crab more than any other seafood -- more than most any treat to eat at all -- but it's an expensive treat. We decided on a Captain's Reserve and a side of rice. This was a large leg and a killer claw or about 1.5 pounds of crab.
Though I could have eaten way more, and I did see an all-you-can-eat Dungeness deal as I was leaving, it was a wonderful taste of the sweet, juicy meat and well worth the stop. There were also cute little photo opp. areas for for kids and perhaps something all restaurants serving messy foods should have -- a foot pedal-operated wash basin to clean yourself up!
We would happily eat a meal a day at Tracy's -- the crab is great, watching the harbor and seeing all the large cruise ships and eating the bounty of the sea while perched above the tide-line is truly fabulous!
Disclosure: We were treated to a few complimentary crab legs while we enjoyed the view from the docks at Tracy's King Crab Shack! All opinions are our own.
