"Oceanfront Dining Perfect for Traveling Families!"

The King’s Tavern Restaurant, located in King and Prince’s Historic Building and adjacent to the hotel lobby, is the best restaurant option for visiting families looking for an extra-special dining experience!

Fabulous Location and Atmosphere

The King’s Tavern offers seaside dining in a cozy setting. With floor-to-ceiling, ocean-facing windows, every guest at The King’s Tavern is certain to have a picturesque view of The Atlantic Ocean! Dark wood trim and pressed linens give the restaurant classy details and soft background music plays, giving a laid-back and homey feel.

A Hearty Breakfast Buffet

King and Prince Resort is known for its Southern Breakfast Buffet and it’s clear to see why! Silver-covered platters of breakfasts foods line buffet tables and china plates are stacked neatly beside. Southern dishes such as grits and peach melba are steaming hot and delicious. Sausages, turkey bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, and biscuits with gravy are next to a made-to-order omelette station. For those that prefer to be a bit more health conscious, fresh fruit, yogurt, and individual cereals are available.

A Very Filling Lunch Menu

The King’s Tavern Restaurant has something for everyone on its lunch menu. Fish and chicken sandwiches, seafood pasta dishes, and lighter fare like soups and salads make lunch at the restaurant an easy choice. During our visit my daughter, age 11, ordered the pub fish & chips and not only was her lunch perfectly cooked, but is wasn’t greasy and bland. I tried the tavern burger and was very pleased with the high quality of meat and the wonderfully fresh bun. The meal portions were not overwhelming as well.

Exquisite Dinner Options

Executive Chef Jason Brumfiel takes pride in his dinner menu. His love of the coast does not go unnoticed in his dinner menu options. Jason is able to meld seafood and southern cooking in a way that my family adored! My husband’s favorite dish was the shrimp and grits. He thought the portion size was perfect, the shrimp was cooked to perfection without being rubbery, and the grits were flavorful and tasty. My daughter’s shrimp rigatoni used lobster cream sauce and pasta in a manner that was not overpowering to her young pallette. My order of kobe beef pot roast was slow-cooked and juicy. Chef Jason circulated throughout the restaurant and visited our table, as well as the rest of the diners. My daughter loved asking the chef questions about cooking and his visit to the table made her feel like a celebrity!

A 5:00pm to 6:30pm daily special is also available and consists of three courses-salad, main entree, and dessert. For families that enjoy eating dinner earlier in the day, a three course special changes daily and is a great option for budget-conscious travelers.

A well-stocked bar is a fine addition to The King’s Tavern. With trained mixologists and a dining menu with wine pairings, adults are sure to love the many options available for lunch and dinner, as well as a midday break.

Attentive and Pleasant Staff and Servers

With each meal that my family and I had the pleasure of enjoying at The King’s Tavern, we were always met with friendly, smiling staff eager to please. On our first night at King and Prince we didn’t have a reservation and simply walked up to the reservation podium. Although reservations for the front, ocean view tables should be made in advance, our server was able to squeeze us in so my daughter could watch the ocean while we dined. Each of our waitresses were thorough and attentive, remembering to fill my husband’s iced tea glass and my daughter’s juice glass. Questions about meal ingredients were met with knowledge and consideration for each individual at our table. We were also told of menu favorites that were tried and true and loved by diners.

My family loved dining at The King’s Tavern! Should we ever return to St. Simon’s Island, I would happily return to King and Prince Resort and The King’s Tavern. We were treated like kings and queens (and princesses!) and each meal was made special through friendly staff and wonderful and varied options.

Disclosure: My family and I stayed as guests of King and Prince Resort and were given complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the purpose of this review. My review is honestly written and, as always, my opinions are my own.
