"Great Breakfast Stop"

We had breakfast at The Cottage while visiting a friend whose office was just down the street in La Jolla. We were seated outdoors on a beautiful day. The street activity was vibrant, and the food was fantastic. We took our 3 kids, ages 1 through 15. They all enjoyed it, and we were able to take turns sneaking away to walk the baby. Great people watching and just down the street from a great toy store.

"The Cottage - Outdoor dining, great for kids too"

This restaurant is kind of an establishment.  It's known particularly for it's awesome breakfast and seems to be packed in the mornings daily.  The service is pretty quick so unless it's Saturday or Sunday, you don't seem to wait too long.  It's recently gone through a renovation and has a very fresh and modern look now.  My daughter was with us and they provided her with crayons a coloring sheet and Wikki Stix.  She had a blast.  We sat outside so there was plenty of buzz for her to look at and if she squealed, no one would notice. I had a shrimp and crab salad that was healthy and superb.  The kids menu has PBJ, Quesadilla, Fruit Plate and a few other things on it that are under $5.  I just wish that the Quesadilla (what my daughter ordered) came with a little side of fruit or something else, other than a teeny orange slice.  But I can order differently for her next time.

Still, a must try if you're in La Jolla.
