A lounge at Ritz Calton with lovely view of the ocean and manicured lawn for the kids. What a pampered pit stop for the family visiting Half Moon Bay
I have to admit I was a little nervous about dining at The Ritz Carlton with my three year old son. Like most young boys, my son is rowdy and loud. He likes to klink silverware and cry at the most inopportune moments. Turns out though, I had nothing to worry about. The Conservatory Lounge is family friendly.
The Conservatory Lounge features a casual seating environment with breathtaking floor-to-ceiling ocean views. The service is excellent and the bistro food is delicious. There’s even a kids menu and crayons. The Lounge is loud enough inside so that your child’s natural noisy chatter will blend in seamlessly with all that is going on around you.
Dress at The Conservatory Lounge is casual. I wouldn’t roll in rocking cut off denim shorts or anything, but I didn’t feel out of place in my non-designer blue jeans and sweater.
The Children's Menu includes:
Hot Dog with French Fries
Hamburger or Cheeseburger with French Fries
Chicken Fingers with French Fries
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Petit Filet Mignon with Garden Vegetables
One Scoop Ice Cream Sundae
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Root Beer Float

The Ritz-Carlton provided my family with a complimentary meal to facilitate this review. The Ritz-Carlton did not request that I express any particular opinion and my reviews always reflect my honest opinions.
The Ritz in Half Moon Bay makes a fabulous pit stop if you are over on the coast for the day. The gracious atrium welcomes guests with stunning views over the pacific. Take a load off and sink into one of their fabulous chairs and enjoy tea or a light meal to refresh yourself after a long hike. Dress is casual (I've seen people lounging in the atrium in their spa robes), but make sure you tidy up, or you will probably get some stares.
Outside, enjoy a walk along the bluffs or head down to the tiny beach (lots of stairs on the way down). On cold days, there is a Gourmet hot cocoa kiosk set up with various refreshments. You can sit by the bonfires and watch the sunset. Kids will love to play on the lawn, but you have to be careful to keep them off of the golf course.
