"Convenient restaurant on-site"

During our two-day stay at the Hyatt Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch, we dined one evening at SWB Southwest Bistro.  We were greeted promptly and seated at a quiet outdoor table, which offered a nice view over the main lawn at the Resort.  The Bistro has a relaxed southwestern feel and plenty of space for seating active families. The SWB menu was not overly large and featured southwestern-inspired menu options.

We were dining on an evening that they offered not only the regular "For Kids By Kids" menu, but also a kid-friendly buffet.  This featured corn dogs, chicken nuggets, mac-and-cheese, and pizza, as well as salad, fresh fruit, and small desserts. While our kids chose this option and enjoyed each of the choices, it appeared that the regular menu items were a bit healthier, more flexible, and more creative (salad kabob, build-your-own whole wheat sub, create your own pasta, sustainable fish, etc.).  Next time we'll try those!

We ordered the table-side made fresh guacamole and chips as an appetizer, which was quite tasty.  My husband chose oven-roasted barramundi with a side salad, while I chose baby back ribs with a southwestern caesar side salad.  While we both enjoyed our salads, we were surprised to find the entrees a little bland. Pricing at SWB is moderate, with adult entrees hovering around the mid-$20's.  Kid's meals ranged from about $6-$10, not including drink.

But, menu aside, our hostess and servers were friendly and accommodating and the seating choices, either indoor or outdoor, offered plenty of space and flexibility for families.  The restrooms were clean and nearby, and the main lawn was close by so that our kids were able to run over and play when they were done with their meals and we were finishing up.  SWB is a nice, unstuffy option for family dining in the midst of the beautiful scenery of the resort.

*My family received a complimentary meal at SWB during our stay at the Hyatt Resort.  I received no other compensation and my reviews and opinions are entirely my own.
