This is a great place to take a load off and be entertained at Disney's Hollywood Studios. When you walk in you are in awe of the scene- a night sky, surrounded by picket fence and dozens of convertible CARS all facing a big old fashioned drive in movie theater screen! Wow! The screen plays clips from cult classic sci-fi movies. The whole experience is just plain fun.
The car hops on roller skates are fun and kid friendly. The atmosphere will leave you talking about the Sci-Fi for a long time to come! Make sure you make reservations at guest relations in the morning as soon as you arrive, the secret's out- this place is awesome!
This place is wonderful! The staff was super friendly and interacted with our kids a great deal. My five year old even got his own drivers license. He was really proud of that! They joked around with our whole family it was a really great time! I will definitely return to this restaurant.
The food was great! There really is something for everyone! Everyone in my family got something different and we do what we always do and let each other taste each others dish and I had no complaints :) The "tables" are great they are set up like cars at a drive in. The lights are kept very low, as to keep that drive in at night movies feel.
We made reservations weeks in advance so I highly recommend it. Or be prepared for a long wait. But it is definitely worth it.
Out of all the places I've tried with my family at Disney's Hollywood Studios, this is defintely in my top two! The Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater has an amazing nostalgic feel to it, and it brings me back to the days when I used to go to drive-in theaters. My kids absolutely loved the place and it was very affordable for any size family. The restaurant is very kid-friendly and has a very comfortable atmosphere, even for those parents with very young children. The food is great as well, and there's something for everyone on the menu! It's a truly fun, and delicious night out!
We loved this restaurant theme! It is a fun throw back to an earlier time when drive-in's were popular.
The booths are set up to look like convertible cars and are set to face a large movie screen. The movies shown are Sci-Fi "monster" flicks from the 50's. The restaurant is kept at low light to give you the feel of actually being outside at the drive in.
The waitresses arrive on roller skates and are dressed to fit the part. The food is American fare and there is something for everyone on the menu.
Be sure to make reservations ahead of time or be prepared for a really long wait.
A fun time for kids and adults!
