Named after legendary skier and Squaw Valley athlete, Shane McConkey, Rocker@Squaw serves up delicious burgers, sandwiches and offers a wide variety of craft beers on tap.
This cool little spot in Squaw Village is an homage to mountain legends like skiers and board riders as well as Olympians. It has a great vibe and delicious food. There’s nothing like a plate of pork ribs or a juicy hamburger after a day of hiking and exploring the area. The service is attentive and the atmosphere fun. We visited during the Shoulder Season so things were slow --- really slow. The staff could have rushed us so that they could close early and go home but instead they took good care of us and even hung out to share a few stories about the area. We felt more like we were at a friend's house than a restaurant!
Rocker@Squaw is awesome to its core. The food is delicious, the interior is trendy, and the Wi-Fi is free. Best of all, it's family-friendly.
Located across from 22 Bistro, the exterior is gorgeous. Inside, Rocker features televisions, a full bar, a slamming menu (think burgers and brew), computer stations, a fun wall of children's artwork, and a ridiculously fun atmosphere.
For those with special dietary needs, burgers are available as turkey or black bean burger and most menu items can be made gluten free if requested. There’s not a kids menu per se, but tots can choose from several kid-friendly favorites such as French fries and hamburgers. I ordered the Rocker Nachos which were decent but my son's cheeseburger stole the show. That sucker was delicious! When I return, I’m ordering a burger!
What makes Rocker truly unique is that anyone can upload helmet cam footage at the bar and watch it on the big screen, or if you’re in a hurry, you can drop off your video and come back on a Sunday to see if your film made the cut. Rocker shows the best of each week's video footage on Sunday.
My family received a complimentary meal to facilitate this review. My opinions are my own.
