This is a completely iconic stop in Juneau they say. It might be a great place for drinks, we didn't test those waters, but the food wasn't anything special and it's not real cheap either. Other than taking a photo at the swinging doors out front, I'd keep moving and spend your time elsewhere!
The place is very dark and dim inside. The piano player was neat to listen to but rather loud. The floor is sawdust so if you have children that want to be on the floor or anywhere but in their seats this is a mom's worst germ and dirt nightmare!
The waitstaff (or at least our server) was inattentive though it was not a full house. The food wasn't anything to write home about - it was edible and portions were average. The BBQ shredded pork sandwich was pretty good.
There are business cards all over the walls. I did pin mine up. That was perhaps the highlight of the lunch. The interior design is very rustic with taxidermy and ironic signs and such all over--it's a neat place but the hype about it totally set the bar way too high and so we were extremely disappointed. And of course though it was a pub -- we've found some VERY kid-friendly, so we were willing to try this one but it was not very kid-friendly. I have to give credit that they at least admit families for the lunch hour.
Bottom Line: May be a neat place to some but not for us.
