A rainforest themed restaurant for the family. Be served and entertained by rainforest characters.
We were very disapointed. The food wasn't great, boarderline bad. They were very overpriced. the seanery was great and kind of made up for it. we in fact left hungry with a $150 food bill, how crazy is that? The senery was very cool and wish they would improve the menu.
Our family loves dining at the rainforest cafe. You get the setting that only Disney could provide. They have amazing saltwater fishtanks, animatronic wildlife and more. The food is always good although a little pricey. Your kids will be entranced by the sights and sounds of the rainforest while dining out in beautiful San Francisco right next to fishermans wharf. Call ahead for reservations and bring table activities for very young ones because this place gets slammed during peak dining hours. Overall, its a great place to eat out with the whole family for a special occasion.
My daughters decided to take me to the Rainforest Cafe for my birthday several days ago. The setting is wonderful with aquariums full of colorful fish, trees, animals, and the feeling of eating in the Rainforest (kind of). Every 30 minutes (approx), the Rainforest wake up and you are treated with animals 'waking up" and a storm. it is very entertaining and actually very fun.
I took out 2 stars because of the very average food and a not so average bill at the end.
If you can get over it, it is a fun place to go with the family.
We only wandered into Rainforest Cafe because of the HUGE sign that said KIDS MEALS 2.99 WED. With 4 of 5 kids still able to eat off of the kids menu we decided it was a great time to finally take them inside.
The food was generic... nothing special and was not very good for the price. The atmospere was amazing which is what you are paying for with the prices of the food. Unless you are going on a Kids eat cheap night it is an amazing waste of money on dinner.
Great restaurant that entertains the kids at the same time. The restaurant petty much caters to kids. I think this place ranks high in entertainment value for the kids - as you walk in, you enter an area where there are tons of "rainforest" toys that are for purchase. Then you walk through the dining room which is simulated to feel and look like a rainforest. There are trees, animals, etc everywhere. Every so often (I think every 20-30 minutes), the animals will make noises and there will be a mist and smokey air that blows out while you are enjoying your food. It's pretty neat - you have to experience it yourself to see what I mean. When my son saw this place, his first reaction was "wow". Even as an adult, I was entertained during my meal.
Minus one star for the quality of food, though. The food is not terrible, but it's not the best either. There are plenty of things on the menu for both adults and kids.
