"Rainforest cafe cool but pricey"

Rainforest cafe has both likes and dislikes. The restaurant displays all the animals giving it a lively nature. We visited it in many other places.Food is pricey but not that awesome. Its just good. The service is great. They give children nice balloons sometimes, they enjoy it.The restaurant is very dimly lit.The thunder storm for every 30 min is scary for younger kids. They might not enjoy it.But it gives the look of an adventurous dinner for kids. Its worth to visit. The aquarium is also good. Also they sell many collectibles. We enjoyed it.

"Great Family Time!"

This is a nice and interesting restaurant! It has a variety of jungle animals nicely displayed so everyone can see them, fun for the kids to enjoy! While your eating there are certain parts that come to life and talk and sing which the kids enjoyed. The food is pretty good, prices can get pricey depending what you get. Overall its a family restaurant! God Bless You!

"Holy loud and overpriced, Batman"

I'll start by saying something nice.  The aquariums are cool, and the kids really like all the animals hanging around.  Except for if they're scared of them, and the thunder that happens every half hour.  It's kitschy and overpriced, the food's just alright, and they hold no punches in taking all of your money that they possibly can.

"Dimly lit, loud, food is just OK"

Service at the Rainforest Cafe was good, even after a short wait of approximately 20 minutes.  However, all of the animatronics, music/sound effects, and distractions make for a loud dining experience.  Some kids may be freaked out by the monkeys/apes that move and make noise.  Forget having a conversation; much of what we said was either shouted or you got up and whispered in the ear of the person you were talking with.   Would have preferred some cuisine more representative of rain forest cultures; most menu items are American entrees of beef, chicken, or seafood with tropical names.  Again, not bad, but I expected more.

"Cool Restaurant"

This is a way cool restaurant for the kids and the parents alike!  Great variety of food to choose from and the atmosphere is one of a kind....for sure!  They also have a wonderful gift shop area where I'm sure you will walk out buying at least one thing!

"good to amuse the kids"

Well, I guess a place like Rainforest cafe is good if you have young school aged kids.  This resturant is pretty pricey and food is 'so-so' compared to other resturants out there.  Honestly I myself wont eat here unless I am bringing several children to amuse.  The atmosphere is like a rainforest with colorful fake lifesize animals here and there to amuse the eyes and ears.  I always notice that this place can get crowded so reserve if you dont want to wait especially on weekend.

"Lots of fun and very neat "

This is a great experience! The food is a bit pricey for the taste but I think you are paying for the environment more than the food.
It does get loud so young children may be scared at time but it is a lot of fun! Maybe just explain to them before hand.
The fish tanks are really cool to look at while waiting (or just shopping).
A very neat place!

"Just take them to McDonald's - you'll all be happier."

We visited the Rainforest Cafe on a Tuesday evening in December - when the place should have been mostly deserted.  It was not, and the maitre'd refused to give us a reservation.  So we waited for an hour to get into a crowded, loud, SEVERELY overpriced restaurant that wouldn't even honor the children's reading rewards coupons that Rainforest itself advertises on the internet.  Seriously, I think the 4 adults and 5 children ALL would have had a better time at any fast food restaurant with a playground.  And we wouldn't have felt cheated out of more than $100 of our money.

"MUST SEE!!!"

This restaurant passed the test of entertaining our toddler with the sights!  There is so much to look at the kids will love it!  Plus parents can get some good food (and drinks if you prefer).  Animal Kingdom is extremely hot, so this air conditioned restaurant instead of the little street vendors is a welcome treat.

"Rainforest Cafe with a Toddler"

Our son was 14 months old when we ate at the rainforest cafe.  It was a really fun experience.  We weren't sure how he would react to all of the noises but he seemed to adapt to it after a short while.  Every 20-30 minutes there is a thunderstorm during which the lights flash and noises are much louder.  He wasn't thrilled with it but it didn't seem to scare him, just make him a bit nervous.  Several months later we went to T-Rex in Downtown Disney and he really enjoyed that experience much more.  The food was good.  We had standard lunch fare.  And the service was wonderful.  We went for an early lunch to beat the crowds and didn't have to wait at all.  I would recommend the Rainforest Cafe if you will be at Animal Kingdom.  If you are trying to decide between R.C. and T-Rex, we would choose T-Rex.

"Fun place to eat"

We've enjoyed eating at the Rainforest Cafe on several occasions. Each experience has been fun and family friendly. Our favorite dish there is the Pastalaya Chicken. The atmosphere is fun, but can be a little intense at moments for little ones and you can experience a great wait time. Definitely worth trying for a different night out with the kiddos.

"Very cool restaurant!"

If you've never eaten at a Rainforest Cafe before, your first time will be magical. This one is located just outside the gates of Disney's Animal Kingdom. You are supposed to have a reservation, but we just walked in after a long day at the park (in early December) and were seated with just a short wait.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is amazing. There are huge aquariums brimming with sea life. There are jungle creatures, lush plants and vines, rocks, etc. Every 15 minutes or so, the animals "come alive" as a "thunderstorm" washes over the cafe, complete with lightning and a mist of water. (As a previous reviewer noted, very small children may be scared by the lightning and thunder.) Near the section where we were sitting, the monkeys/gorillas started beating their chests and making monkey sounds. Each episode only lasts a few minutes, but it is a very unique atmosphere that most kids (and parents) will love. Bring your camera!

The food, in my opinion, was quite good, and generous portions were served. I had no problems with the wait staff. It is a very busy place, and you can drop a lot of money here, but when you are vacationing at Disney, it's all worth it.

Oh, and by the way, there is a large gift shop that you cannot avoid. Good luck getting out of there without buying the kids something!

"Nice experience, just the food isn't THAT good."

I've been to several Rainforest Cafes around the country (due to my children's love for them) and I have to say that this is one of the weaker ones. The service here was truly mediocre at best and almost every single meal we ordered was prepared wrong. Also we had a very large reservation from two weeks in advance and they were not ready at all for us. Even though the scenery is beautiful, it's not worth the aggrevation.

"Eat in the rainforest!"

A trip to the Rainforest Cafe is a must at least once during a visit to DisneyWorld.  It's just that neat of a place.  Sitting through a meal, you really get a feel for the place and how interesting it is with all of the animals and rainforest vegetation.

I thought the staff was very helpful and attentive.  The food was good, although be prepared to spend a lot.  It was much better than the typical amusement park fare, but still costly.  And when your kids don't eat much, it's painful.

Typical of Disney establishments, there is a gift shop, so you can shop if you want.

My older kids (9 and 7 at the time) liked the neatest effect of the Cafe, which was that every 15 mins or so, the rainforest comes alive and animals make sounds and move.  My youngest (3 yrs) was a tad scared, so be aware that skittish youngsters might not like the "show".

All in all I was glad I went.  It's a neat experience and a nice relaxing meal.  Make reservations far in advance if possible.  Even when we went (off season at the end of Feb) we had to wait and take whatever they had.  So if you're really  set on eating here, make sure to call and reserve your meal time so you can enjoy it while you're in Animal Kingdom.

Great place to dine, neat experience, and definitely worth a visit.  Put it on your list of things to do when in town!!

"Animals and thunderstorms!"

Rainforest Cafe is a great place to eat lunch and take a break from the humidty and sunshine.  The meals are about 15-30 dollars a person and the food is a little bit better than your typical amusement park hamburger.  We love to eat at Rainforest Cafe with the kids because of the atmosphere.  You are surrounded by the rainforest "animals" and every few minutes (15 if I am remembering correctly?) a thunderstorm occurs.  There is a fish tank that the kids will like to see as well.  Definitely make a reservation before you go to help minimize the wait.  If we get offered a table in the bar area, we always take it because there is still plenty to see and the wait is usually shorter.
