Punch Pizza is amazing! The crust has these amazing herbs, and there are so many unique combinations to try! We sat in and had a great meal, with quick wonderful service, in a family friendly, albeit trendy atmosphere. The next night, the kids begged for Punch again, so we had it delivered. It was quick and hot! All in all a great choice!
While this isn't my favorite pizza it is a nice package. The building is very nice. The pizza is made right on the spot and cooked fast. The kids didn't care for the pizza and it wasn't an amazing deal for the price. But it is a nice place to go on a date or bring others. We don't eat out much, so it was nice to try it one time with the kids. But we probably will go alone next time.
My husband and I must have eaten at a "million" restaurants before our son was born, we were so convinced that we would never be able to eat out in the kind of restaurants we really liked once our son was born. Punch is one of those places that seems like it was started by people like that.
According to the website, it was actually John's (the owner) childhood dream to start Punch pizza. As a child, his family moved to Milan, Italy, and it was there that he discovered a love for eating pizza and socializing with his friends. When he moved back to the states, he decided to open a pizzeria that cooks pizza the way Neapolitan masters do--in an 800 degree oven. There are several locations today, but I listed the three that my family and I frequent.
Wanted to be sure to post this on the Minneapolis reviews because so often when you are traveling out of town you want to make sure you and your family can enjoy a good meal. Mom and dad don't want to eat at a chain--that's boring--you can do that at home--and you want to go someplace that your kids can be themselves--without all of the stress associated with restaurant etiquette.
Punch is easy. Walk in. Stand in line. Grab a menu and decide what you want. Beverages are only soda water and wine--so the only bummer is that there is not a milk or juice option--odd for such a family friendly place. After ordering, you and the kids can watch your pizza being made and slid into the brick oven. There are a series of tables that seat four and then there is a long table in the middle of the restaurant where you can eat family style.
The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, so if you are a Pizza Hut person, this is NOT the place for you. Pizzas are a little larger than "personal pan" size and are cooked made to order.
