This is an absolutely beautiful property. The hotel is incredibly close to the water and accessible to Sea World. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. They have more than one pool on the property, but took extra care in making sure families would enjoy their time at the main pool. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
We celebrated my birthday at Paradise Point Resort, located on San Diego's Mission Bay. As we drove in, the resort looked impressive. The grounds were gorgeous and the location was perfect -- about two miles from Sea World and situated on the Bay with beachfront access.
The rooms, on the other hand, were pretty bad. Not only were they dated, but they didn't seem all that clean and we actually found some bugs in the bedroom (which the resort promptly took care of). They had a fun Barefoot Bar & Grill in the marina. Again, the location was fantastic but the food was just okay.
The good news is that the resort has plans to renovate and I do think there is a lot of potential. We went to Sea World and were able to actually drive back to the resort for my son's nap and then return for a 4 p.m. shamu show!
I hope they spend some money to improve the property. The staff was really nice and the pools were a lot of fun but until the renovation is complete, I will probably stay elsewhere.
