Oregano's, although a chain restaurant in Arizona, never feels like one. It's homey and yummy and feels like Poppa will come strolling out of the kitchen to greet you soon. We went on St. Patrick's Day, so we knew we needed to roll in before the drinkers, and get out before the party started. With friendly, efficient wait staff we were able to do just that.
We were seated outside (my preference, as the inside is quite small) and because AZ nights are pretty much always perfect for dining alfresco. We came for the food though, not just the atmosphere. The food is GOOD here. We started with a round of wings (the kids devoured them), and then moved on to the thin crust pizza (NY-style) that my husband loves so much. The topper was a plate of their brussel sprouts. What? You may ask. Yes! If you love roasted brussel sprouts, these are a must to order.
The kid's menu is a good price at $3.99 and has the standard pizza and pasta, but drinks are free and desert is 99 cents. My daughter told me the time she came before she was given dough to play with while she waited for her meal. We weren't offered that this time, but I hope they still do that because thats a pretty cool idea.
Four Peaks Brewery (the best local beer) is on draft here, which makes it one of the best reasons to try Oreganos.
