"Salmon burgers"

This quaint diner was our favorite eatery in Anchorage on our recent visit.  The food was very yummy, made to order burgers, of which I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon burger.  We put this restaurant on our list of "things to do in Anchorage" specifically because of a recommendation from Trekaroo.  Thanks QuoVadis!

We ate at a booth overlooking Campbell Creek and tried to pretend like we were one of the locals that filled the other booths.  It was probably obvious that we weren't as we gawked at the ceilings filled with pictures of regular locals who have eaten at this diner since 1976.  "Alaskan decorations" filled the spaces including knotty spruce logs, paintings of Mt. McKinley and photos of salmon running red in the river.

Be prepared to buy your food with cash as they don't take credit cards or checks.  Enjoy a yummy lunch or dinner and if you can handle the mosquitos in July, eat it outside by the beautiful little creek.  Or if you are like us, you can eat in the cozy booths inside without the worry of getting bit.
