From their website:
La Perla Pizzeria is Eugene Oregon's pizzeria by John “Gianni” Barofsky and Beppe Macchi. One of a select few restaurants in the nation producing True Neapolitan Pizza, La Perla is Verace Pizza Napoletana-certified which means every aspect of production – from the design and temperature of the wood-burning oven to the toppings and the ingredients of the crust – is authentic.
What is Neopolitan Style Pizza?
It is pizza made in the authentic Italian style. Fresh and ingredients are layered on handmade dough, then cooked for 90 seconds in a domed-shaped, wood-burning oven that reaches temperatures of up to 1,500 degrees. The intense heat and fire impart a slight rustic char. The result is a luscious blend of flavors on a light and tender crust. Buon Appetito!
La Perla is always a favorite when we go to Eugene. I am not a huge fan of pizza normally, but this pizza makes you feel like you are eating pizza from 'The Old Country'. Being a university town, Eugene has several pizza places to choose from, but this is really different from all of the rest.
They have highchairs, and are quick to bring food out for the little ones. They also have special cups they do, just for little ones and have offered crayons. The whole menu is pretty kid friendly and if you see something that almost works, but not quite, they will help you out (they also do special requests, which is handy). They have a wonderful selection of mains, some great salads, and desserts imported from Italy. Makes for a really nice dinner out.
There is a good hum in the restaurant, so a slightly noisier little one doesn't bother folks.
The restaurant is located really close to downtown and also to the University, so if you happen to be in the area of either of those, it is within walking distance.
One tip though...they don't take reservations and get pretty busy by 6:15p, so if you don't want to wait, I would get there early.
Last thing: no changing table for the little ones.
