Classic, authentic Mexican flavors, beautiful, bold decor, and some of the most mouth-watering food I've ever tried work together to make La Hacienda by Richard Sandoval a must try dining experience while at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. While the entrees and dishes are not on the inexpensive side, this is truly one of the only fine-dining experiences I have ever had while eating Mexican fare.
Your kids will love that there are favorites they've come to know and love, like tacos, quesadillas, chicken fingers, and more (starting at just $5), but you'll love that the adult Mexican food offered here is far above anything you've ever tried. Chef Forest Hamrick serves up an array of amazing dishes including shrimp and Mahi Mahi ceviche, lobster tacos, mole poblano, and churros with gourmet dipping sauces. The salsa varieties and unique guacamole flavor combinations are the perfect way to start your meal. We tried the guacamole sampler, with three unique varieties you must discover: Pomegranate Guacamole, made with pomegranate, mango, apple, walnut, and balsamic; Spicy Crab Guacamole, with blue lump crab, chile arbol, and heirloom tomato; and Pepita Guacamole (my favorite), made with roasted pumpkin seeds, queso fresco, and salsa morita. Over 240 tequilas, sotols, and mescals, selected by Abeer Besharieh, certified expert from the Tequila Regulatory Council in Mexico, means mom and dad can enjoy an authentic treat as well!
For my meal, I enjoyed the more traditional Mexican Street Fajitas, but the flavors of this dish were so incredible that I have vowed to never order fajitas at a "typical" restaurant again. Our entire party raved about how incredible the dining experience was. Every single bite offered melt in your mouth flavor sensations that I have never found at another Mexican restaurant. This culinary experience is an absolute must during your trip to the area.
