The quaint town of Wrangell has some pretty serious milkshakes tucked along it's main street! We enjoyed stopping at J&W's FOUR times while in town for three days. It could have been the pregnancy hormones, but if that's the case, I don't know why all the men were lined up at the service window!
The Huckleberry milkshakes are a MUST consume while on the island. The burgers and fries are delish as well and service is fast - but the food is not like McD's at all. This is small-town fast food at its' finest.
There is some seating outside (in the form of picnic tables under an awning) and some seating inside, but it fills fast and this is a local hot-spot, so don't be afraid to take your order to-go and head to a more scenic venue!
The ice cream/shake flavors are many but the goods ones (Huckleberry) sell out regularly!
I didn't use any restrooms nor do I know if there are any available, but it's only about two blocks from the museum with nice public restrooms and a public restroom that is near the harbor.
This place is walking distance from the harbor, a little farther from the ferry docks and airport. It is located right on the "main drag" of Wrangell. Prices are totally reasonable and you get a lot of french fries with your order!
Bottom line? My husband had to stage a Huckleberry milkshake intervention. So yeah, we'll be back!
