ESPN Zone New York is a sports bar located in the heart of Times Square on the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The ESPN Zone is a great place for families because it's affordable and kid friendly. The food here was nothing to write home about, but it was by no means bad. The atmosphere is wonderful and no one can go here and not have a good time. The servers here are extremely personable and they made the visit even more enjoyable.
We thought the kids would enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant as we grabbed dinner on the way back to the train. We were seated quickly but it took a while for our waitress to make her way to us. After she submitted our orders the restaurant became busier and the kitchen got backed up. We were there for over 45 minutes and still had no food. When we finally got our food it was average fair, nothing spectacular.
We had a seat near the window overlooking Times Square and still had good views of the large screen TV's to watch the sporting events.
There is an arcade upstairs that we never made it to, we didn't want to leave the table while waiting for our food and thought we could go up after dinner. It took so long to get our food and then our check that we had to run as soon as we were done to catch the train on time. The kids were cranky by the time we left and they are usually very good when we go out to eat.
We loved having lunch at the ESPN Zone in Times Square. We were in the city in December. We had a great meal, great service and we loved the sports theme. We didn’t get a chance to play games upstairs. But this would be great for anyone with kids from 8 on up to teenagers.
