I need to caveat this review as my 5-year-old is used to eating out in nice places. We were invited to dinner here and due to a number of reasons, had to bring her. Normally, we wouldn't bring her as this is one of the best seafood restaurants in San Diego, catered more toward adults and a bit expensive (but worth it). However, in the end, it was fine and I'd bring her again.
There's no kids menu, however, there's pancetta mac and cheese on the menu (you can hold the bacon) along with veggie sides. You can also order a trio of sliders (so good) and hold the onions. The freshly baked bread and butter on the table is seriously to die for and can fill up any tummy. Not to mention the staff was extra generous in the maraschino cherry department, as we promised a Shirley Temple for good behavior. We brought our own coloring book and crayons, iPhones, etc. but she was ok without all.
Now to the important stuff. This was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. I ordered a Hamachi/avocado/lime appetizer that was to die for. I could eat it every day. There are up to 15 different types of fresh oysters daily. My husband ordered everything our server recommended and it was spot on, down to the pear martini paired with the oysters. Wow. I had the Chilean sea bass entree that was melt in your mouth delicious. It was just truly an exquisite dining experience.
I would say that if your kids are bouncing off the walls, this probably isn't the best place. But if you're in San Diego, grab a sitter or bribe the kids into good behavior. Your meal will be worth it.
