There are only a handful of choices for dining in the small town of Haines - especially depending on whether or not a ferry/cruise ship is in port and the time of day.
We found this restaurant about 40 minutes before they closed for an afternoon hiatus. We felt bad about being "last minute" customers, but the servers were all still so attentive and friendly. As we were finishing up (around 15 minutes before they closed) another party of nearly ten came in. After that two smaller parties came in. The staff didn't even flinch at the fact that they'd obviously be staying late.
The food was average but portions were amazing. Since we ordered chicken strips for our son and they didn't get put in right away, when our (the adults) food came the server brought our son a plate of french fries to keep him from "starving" or feeling left out. It was a really kind gesture.
The hours of this place are a little strange, so check the door sign or call. They do not (to my knowledge) have a website.
Bottom-line: For a simple, sit-down meal that isn't expensive and is good food, definitely consider eating here!
