Kid friendly restaurant with international menu,
We just had dinner at Chez Shea and found the international comfort food menu intriguing, the presentation appealing, but the flavors were disappointing. Some dishes lacked a richness of flavor you'd expect for dishes like the Lebanese Mussaka and French Poulet Roti. On the other hand, there were some dishes where the flavors were simply too overwhelming with sweetnes like the South African Bobotie. While all the dishes were okay, none really shone enough to convince me that we needed to come back for more.
On the positive side, the service was very attentive and even at dinner it felt comfortable with kids. The kids menu was good. Some regular items mixed with roast chicken and fish and chips with veggies. So, thumbs up for kid- friendly, but be ready to settle for a less than gourmet meal.
Chez Shea's protected back patio is wonderful for families with small children. The walls keep it a bit warmer and the space is large enough to bring a stroller. Plus, if your kids make a mess, the birds will clean up. Good for lunch, especially the pulled pork sandwich.
