Buckhorn Exchange is Denver's original steakhouse.
This is a fun place to eat to try some wild game and free range meat. I would recommend a sampler plate to try a few types of meat and save some money. The restaurant is pretty out of the way and the wait can be pretty long on the weekend, so plan accordingly.
Between exotic foods (What kid doesn't want to go to school and tell his/her friends they ate rattlesnake?), the great entertainment and animals/guns and leather lining the walls, there is a bit of history emanating from the walls of the Buckhorn Exchange.
This is Denver's oldest restaurant, in fact, for you parents, their liquor license is 1. Yep.. the first one ever given out in Denver. What a cool place this is to bring your kids, Alligator, buffalo and even Rocky Mountain oysters can be found here.
Take your family and go on an adventure for a little while!
