We recently drove by, and as of early June 2011, this restaurant has CLOSED! I can't find any info on if/when/where it will re-open.
We went to dinner here on a Saturday, about 6:00-6:30. Restaurants are hit-or-miss with a 2-year-old, but this one turned out to be a hit! The place was fairly empty that early on, so we got a seat at a big picnic table outside. (One thing I didn’t like- the table was so big that my 4-year-old had to balance on my leg to reach her dinner. No boosters here, but they did have high chairs. And there were standard tables inside that we could’ve sat at.) One of the best parts of this restaurant- the outside patio was covered from the hot AZ sun but still open to the outside; we still had an awesome view of the sunset, and our 2-year-old enjoyed watching and hearing the cars & bustle of the parking lot right outside. Besides the tasty BBQ (I got a pulled chicken sandwich, my hubby got some ribs), we also got sweet potato fries (sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, yum!), baked mac n’ cheese (with nutmeg, REALLY good), corn on the cob & a corndog for my daughter. Prices seemed kinda high for BBQ ($7-8 for a sandwich + side or $16-19 for a combo plate), but we did leave full and with doggie bags. The tables had rolls of paper towels on them and a bucket to discard your ribs & corn cobs in. Lots of TVs on the wall with a variety of sports on, and I had a large, frosty beer for only $2. Mainstream country & classic rock music rounded out the ambiance nicely.
