The Beachcomber Inn is such a great taste of Alaskan dining! We ate here a few times throughout our vacationing and it was excellent everytime.
From the homemade lemon butter to the fantastic, fresh salads (no small feat on an island in Alaska!) and that's not even talking about the main course. I had a delicious Seafood Alfredo (crab, halibut, and shrimp) with a seared Ahi tuna filet that I split with my husband.
This is a great supper club for anniversaries, celebrations, or just a great meal and brilliant views of the Alaskan sunset over the Wrangell narrows.
They offer crayons for kiddos and have high chairs available. All of the offerings we tried were fantastic. No exceptions. This restaurant has kitchen staff for specific duties (salads, deserts, entrees, etc.) which I think is part of the reason it's so incredible.
It's a better place to enjoy a romantic or fun night without kids, but it's not at all a place that you wouldn't bring them at all. There were plenty of family diners (big groups with several kids) that ate there and the atmosphere was welcoming for families.
The Beachcomber in has a little more expensive prices but the quality that comes to your table on your dinner plate is worth every cent. It's authentic Alaskan dining with a great seating area on the deck to enjoy the sights and smells of the ocean and coastline. They offer many wines and beers as well as some tastey non-alcoholic daquiris!
I'd bring kids or just the spouse to the Beachcomber for what is sure to be one of the best meals you've had in a long time!
