"Kid Friendly Messy Burgers"

Alamo Springs cafe's claim to fame is their "Cover Burger" that was featured on the cover of Texas Monthly's 2009 Burger issue.  We stopped in here after a full day in Fredericksburg tagging Monarchs at Wildseed Farms http://www.wildseedfarms.com/ Our kiddos devoured their burgers and fries (the sweet potato fries were the favorite).  They have music later in the day and a neat outside area.  It's also next to the Old Tunnel wildlife area that is home to around 3 million Brazilian free-tailed bats.  http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/hunt/wma/find_a_wma/list/?id=17 During certain times of the year you can watch the bats fly out at sunset.  Really cool!!!  We can't wait to go back for more burgers for sure.
