As part of our visit to the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, we were fortunate enough to dine on a few occasions at the 8100 Mountainside Bar and Grill. From the local and organically sourced food at the restaurant to the appealing entree choices and the comfortable niche slope-side, next to the outdoor fire pit, it exudes a cozy, up-scale feeling. Don't let that scare you away from bringing your kids here! The staff was more than welcoming to my young children and those of the families around me, making welcome menu suggestions and understanding the flexibility needed when dining with kids.
I have to say that I was most impressed by the offerings on the children's menu at the restaurant, as well. Far from the bland, brown, fried fare you find almost everywhere else, my kids were eager to dive into real, fresh, and healthy offerings such as the kid-size steak and fresh veggies and flatbread pizzas (big enough to share!) while I noshed on organic Shetland Island salmon and took in the mountain views I've missed since moving to Michigan.
We enjoyed the buffet breakfast there each morning of our stay, as well, and were continually surprised at some of the unique and flavorful dishes they presented. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and as kid-friendly as everyone else we encountered at the hotel. I noticed several other families enjoying relaxed meals in the outdoor dining area with kids just as happy as my own. It's an unusual blend of rather upscale dining in a family-friendly atmosphere and I can't wait to come back to show my husband, who was deployed during this trip. There are a few more entrees on that menu calling my name!
