Shaped like a bent arm and stretching 60 miles into the Atlantic, the peninsula of Cape Cod offers nearly 300 miles of beaches, along with acres of nature preserves, dozens of pretty villages, and an abundance of top-notch inns and restaurants that welcome families. Route 6A was designated a National Scenic Byway and runs almost 35 miles from Bourne to Orleans. Known as the King’s Highway, it has evolved from a Native American pathway to a colonial road to the scenic byway that is one of the main routes for vehicle traffic today.
