Lake Tomahawk Park & Duck Pond
401 S. Laurel Circle Dr,
Black Mountain,
North Carolina
This is a real nice park with a large pond that’s home to many ducks that my son loves. It has a nice walking path that goes all the way around the pond. It also has a playground area with swings, slides, lots of sand and picnic tables. We always bring some food for the ducks and love to feef them!. Its a very relaxing park!

This is a semi-structured environment for parents and toddlers.
There is a different gymnastics obstacle course set up each week. We go ever so often with the moms group.
Students are allowed to explore and discover throughout the whole gymnastics area including trampolines and foam pit with the guidance of their parents. 45 minute class per week $5 per class. No pre-registration required. Walking to age 3 SUPER FUN TIME! They also do other ages the place is called High Flight gymnastics!

Owen City Pool
117 Stone Dr,
Swannanoa,

This is a nice public pool with a zero-entry edge and kiddie area. This is perfect for our younger kids. Pack a picnic lunch, they do have vending machines, but no snack bar. Its not as great as black mountain pool but it was a nice change for a playdate! The kids all loved it of course!

"Great fun for lil' ones!"
This is a public pool in Black Mountain - it's right there by the Lake Tomahawk duck pond. It has been redone and it's sooo nice. It is zero entry and costs $3 to get in. It opens at 11am everyday!! It has 3 umbrellas that appear to drip water - just a very nice pool :) We also pack a picnic lunchwhen we go.

"fun in the back country!"
Perfect weekend campsite. Off the beaten path, this clean, pristine site gave us a great oppurtunity to escape for the weekend. There were clean and working toilets and showers for those who wanted them, potable water on tap, and just enough privacy from other campers, but close enough to make new friends to be a great experience. The local area is free from commercial overload, giving it a rustic charm that reminds us of what is great about the slower pace of living. The camp hosts were amazingly accomodating, helpful, and take real ownership of the site. Great for families, couples, friends getting together. And in addition to all this, falling asleep to the sound of rushing water soothes the soul unlike anything else. Just be aware the local town does not offer much in the way of supplies, so bring your own, fire wood is for sale (very cheap) on the way up the mountain, just make sure you have some dry wood if its been raining recently. There's a nice open grassy area in the middle of the campground for the kids to run around in.
