Yosemite National Park
Public Information Office,
PO Box 577,
Yosemite National Park,
California 95389
This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. The pictures and the scenery and the animals all around this place are phenominal. Make sure you get a senior citizens pass for your car and everyone gets to benefit from the pass. This greatly reduced the cost of our visit to many parks on our entire trip. Tons of animals and lots of hiking if you so choose.

Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias in Yosemite
Mariposa Grove Road,
Yosemite National Park,
California 95389
We did take the train, but I am so glad we did. Luckily, my in-laws went before (and are senior citizens) and they knew the ins/outs. You have a recording of what is going on around you and learn so very much. Of course it was fun to listen to all the other languages sometimes too. The trees are magnificient, but you learn so very much more history etc. if you go on the tour. It is a little expensive, but the train stops and lets you take pics etc. too.

Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park
Upper Geyser Basin,
Yellowstone National Park,
Wyoming
My children loved this place, but not the smell. Of course scenery does not mean a whole lot to most children. Waiting for the geyser to blast off can take a while and waiting w/kids can be stressful. Once it went off the kids were ready to go. The movie was a little boring and the walking was quite a bit all around the smaller geysers and paint pots. IT is quite a bit of walking which has a very strong odor. My kids got tired of walking too. I have wonderful kids who are normally a joy to be around, but for some reason this was a bit much for them and they are older kids? Still I think one day they will greatly appreciate that they had the chance to see this place.

Jackson Hole Square - Cowboy Show
25 N Cache St,
Jackson,
Wyoming
"Jackson Hole Cowboy Show"
This is a very cute free event especially if you children have never seen a cowboy show. My kids loved it. The show is 365 days a year and is professionally done and choreographed and paid for by the city. The scenery of the area adds so much to the show too. There is a whole troop of actors that are dressed to the hilt both Indians and cowboys and they stage shootings in the middle of the street which they cord off for the event each night at 6:00 in the summer and at an earlier time in the winter.

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
1204 Gulf Shores Parkway,
Gulf Shores,
Alabama 36542
This is nicknamed "The Little Zoo that Could". They had such a hard time after a hurricane, but they are a wonderful zoo. It isn't huge true enough, but it is perfect for young kids and it is very clean! They have a wonderful show where they let you pet multiple animals. Some animals like peacocks etc. roam freely around you. Other animals are free roaming, but far enough to not be a nuisance. The goats can be fed, but they "steal" whole cups of food and are greedy so beware. There is a special area where you can hold a baby Joey in a pouch (bag) and learn about the animal while other animals roam around you. We didn't participate in this, but we watched. it was a little expensive and while my kids wanted to do it,I honestly didn't think it was worth it considering the price and the fact that I had 3 kids. The staff is friendly and very nice. The place is very well kept and the surrounding a beautiful.
