"solid choice for family seafood"
Good variety of seafood choices. We did the fried platters. YUM. Kids meals were just smaller portions of the same adult food. (YEAH). They were served with fries and apple sauce. This seems to be one of the few restaurants around with a full bar. The garbage holes in the middle of the table were a real hit with the kids. This place gets busy so go early.

"try something else"
It's hard to mess up breakfast, but they didn't do a good job either. My husbands potatoes were hard and oversalted. My french toast seemed like plain old loaf bread. The boys had the piggie pancakes (sausage wrapped in a pancake) and it was a real hit. The staff was nice, but the restaurant was really hot. There are too many other places to try to waste time on this one. Pass.

"great for families"
Get there early because they always seem to have a wait for dinner! The menu is huge--you'll definitely find something for everyone. It's just loud and chaotic enough that your kids wont bother anyone. We had the "holy cow" fried platter and it was great. The kids mac and cheese looked like easy mac (blech), and the pizza was not that great looking either. The next time we ordered shepards pie for our boys and it was very tasty and plenty for the three of them to share. We enjoyed this place so much we ate there twice.

"Playground and outdoor seating"
This little restaurant is right on the beach. They have a tiki bar outside and had live music on the weekends (maybe during the week too). The food wasn't anything special (not bad, just not memorable). What makes this place special is a sandbox/ playround in the middle of the outdoor tables. Sit outside and watch your kids play while you have a cocktail and enjoy dinner in peace. Pure heaven for those of us who don't travel with Grandma!

"great ice cream and candy"
We made this place our afternoon habit while visiting Amelia Island. They are one of the few places that are open after dinner. Fantastic Fudge is owner operated and he was there most days making fudge on marble slabs. Stick around for samples. They make a bunch of different chocolates in the store too. They have a good selection of ice cream. My kids loved superman and crazy cake. The dark chocolate turtles were amazing.
