Monterey State Beach
Del Monte Avenue at Park Avenue,
Monterey,
California
"Having fun at the beach."
After spending time at Dennis the Menace Park across the street, we found a lovely beach to relax by. The walk down to the water was easy and the sand was perfect. Our daughter made a lovely sand castle only to have it knocked down by a walking Seagul. The day was great, the beach was fun and the memories will last a life time.

Dennis the Menace Playground
777 Pearl Street,
Monterey,
California 93940
Ride the locomotive, slide down the numerous slides, climb a rock wall. Dennis the Menace Playground is free and great for many ages. Eventhough the park was crowded, the playground splits into different areas so it didn't feel crowded. Our daughter loved the climbing structures and attempted the rock wall.

Pixie Woods
Occidental Ave and Shimizu Drive,
Stockton,
California 95202
If its cool out then Pixie Woods is the place to take the little ones. Great for ages 1-10. Unfortunately, the park doesn't open until 11 am and it only takes cash so be prepared. Pixie Woods is at Louis Park along the waterfront. It has been around for 56 years. We loves the different play areas and the Pixie Express Train. The merry go round is a favorite too. Always have a picture taken with the Pixies.

Folsom Zoo Sanctuary
403 Stafford Street,
Folsom,
California
I agree with others, this zoo is great for toddlers. Its small and has character. The zoo was clean with a wide variety of animals. Grandparents will love taking their little ones here. The train was fun and gave us a view outside the main area. I wouldn't plan to spend the whole day here, a few hours works well.

Golden Gate Bridge
Golden Gate Bridge,
San Francisco,
California
"What a sight when its clear."
Most of our trips to San Francisco happen on windy or foggy days. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge is rarely a clear one. We loved our boat ride on the water near Pier 39 but even on the water the bridge is hard to see. Best of luck viewing all the bridge at once. Older children may appreciate this great structure but under 10 don't understand its beauty.
