About Me & My Family
We are a budget-oriented, educational opportunity loving family of 6 who currently reside in South Davis County, Utah. We're more zoo people than we are circus people. We love taking our kids on simple, fun activities that don't cost an arm and a leg.

A Place We'd Love To Visit
Someday we'll go to Moab!
Favorite Vacation Memory
Our absolute favorite vacation so far has been when we went to Yellowstone National Park. Our kids were little, so we didn't do a ton of hiking, but seeing the waterfalls, geysers and of course, the bison, were all incredible. We can't wait to go back!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
No joke- every time we take a trip, at least 1 kid throws up in the car. Perhaps someday we can have a vomit-free vacation?!?

City Creek Center
50 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101,
Salt Lake City,
Utah
"Gorgeous Shopping Center!"
This brand new shopping center in downtown Salt Lake is absolutely incredible! It's 2 city blocks long has a retractable ceiling that opens the mall up to the night sky, as well as a sky bridge. An actual creek runs through the middle, so not only is there great shopping, but the scenery is incredible. There are some pretty ritzy stores- Tiffany's, Restoration Hardware, Porshe- but on the flip side there's also more "normal" mall stores like Claire's and Macy's! The Disney store is a MUST if you have little girls. It's absolutely MAGICAL. It's a very hands-on store, so anticipate spending a bit of time in there {30-40 mins} to take it all in. There are several nice restraurants like the Cheesecake Factory and Blue Lemon, but if you have kiddos, I'd head to the food court. Prices are very reasonable and they have an incredible play area! This mall would be a fantastic place to take the kids!

Sweet Candy Company
3780 West Directors Row (1100 South),
Salt Lake City,
Utah
I think this is a fun, informative activitivity if you're looking to break up the week a bit. It's free and takes about an hour. Babies sit in strollers that are provided. Everyone wears a hair net and stays together. It's fun watching how taffy is made and of course, everyone LOVEs taste testing! Fresh taffy- even the kid that's still warm- is sooo much better! You can purchase products at the end and they have some very inepensive packages, so it's fun to take some home as well. I was able to pick up some "scratch & dent' type boxes for super cheap!

Wheeler Historic Farm
6351 South 900 East,
Salt Lake City,
Utah
"Fun Day Trip for Younger Kids"
We enjoyed our trip to Wheeler. It was a little on the small side, but it was still fun to walk around and see all the animals. It's pretty spread out, so even when it got a bit crowded, it didn't really feel like we were around a ton of people. You can take a guided tour- I think that's how most people go through. Our tour guide didn't seem very knowledgeable, which was a little annoying, but overall, still fun.

Thanksgiving Point
3003 Thanksgiving Way,
Lehi,
Utah
There is so much to do at Thanksgiving Point! We're split on favorites- half of us like the Dinosaur Museum the most, the other half like Farm Country. The Gardens are also spectacular, so really, I say it depends what time of year it is! Also, stop by the Emporium store while you're there. It's pricey, but so fun to window shop in there! The restaurant is amazing, but we also like the little cafe and it's cheaper.

Cafe Zupas
7632 South Campus View Dr.,
West Jordan,
Utah 84084
There are a lot of soup-sandwich-salad type places out there, but Zupas is perched HIGH above the rest! Their soups are fresh, unique and delicious. My favorite is Mushroom Bisque. I've never tasted anything like it and crave it!! Tehir sandwiches all use Meunster cheese- a milk white cheese that has a lovely flavor- makes all the sandwiches sooo good!! Tehir salads are tossed right in front of you and are made to your choice- they have tons of different kids. I like any with berries. So the food is fantastic, I just wish it were slightly cheaper! Reserve this restaurant for a date night! Leave the kids at home, they won't be able to appreciate it anyways!!
