About Me & My Family

I work full time out of the home, we have a house that we are constantly doing renovations on and I have 3 small children. Life is busy so when we go somewhere fun with the kids I want it to be the best possible scenario possible! (Nothing worse then finally having the time to do something fun and feeling disappointed like it was more work than fun). -Age 36 -Married for 9 years -Three boys age 1, 3, 6 -Worked with teens who've I've taken to many PGH places/activities

Trax Farms in the Fall

"Trax Farms"
Autumn is a wonderful time to take the kids to a farm. Trax farms is nice during the week when there aren't a lot of people, however, to bring small children on the weekend--it was too crowded. There is not a ton of food to choose from but all the typical favorites for kids, hot dogs, fries, kettle corn, candy apples, etc... Pumpkins to climb on and buy, lots of cute crafty things to buy, trackless train and bouncy things for the kids, flowers were very expensive compaired to my local green house. Nice hay ride to the top of hill pumpkin patch and petting zoo animals... very crowded though--so again, go on a day when no one else is going!

"cute little beach"
if you don't mind swimming in a lake then you will enjoy taking the kids to this little beach. roped off section for swimming is nice on a hot day. people have always been friendly and shared balls and water toys... tiny TINY beach but for little kids or teen girls trying to catch some rays its fine. Picnic tables under trees and large grassy areas to play ball... bathrooms are cleaner than most park bathrooms I've seen

"great for kids of all ages"
My husband loves trains! He took 2 of our boys on a train ride. I'd say the 2 year old was too small just b/c well, he was 2 and didn't care! Our 5 year old loved it! They ate lunch on the train. You can get off at the one stop where there is ice cream and a small park. They took at lot of great pictures on the tour too.

"everything for all ages"
You can't go wrong with chocolate! The store alone will be a crowd pleaser! There is a ride that takes you through how they make chocolate--the kids liked it--had singing cows and colorful things to look at... even in the winter there are things to do here. of course summer is better b/c there is the amusement park.

"we love this place!"
First of all, it is right on the beach which is a plus when you have kids and stuff and don't want to cross the street or walk a block. We went the first week in Sept before my oldest was in Kindergarten so it was very open and empty but that was rather nice. There is an inside pool and hot tub and atrium with parrots. THe kids loved the parrots! small bar /cafe inside too which was good for a quick bite to eat. While Sept was cheaper and not crowded and it was nicer weather for kids, be aware that everything in OCean City seems to close up after Labor Day so the amusement park on the board walk was closed. THe rooms were good size and they have pack n plays and high chairs to borrow. our room had a kitchenette which is also a must with small children. We hate breakfast in our room most days and could pack up snacks and lunch for the beach. For the price this was a nice place. Not dirty. Friendly staff. Free parking. Again, beach is right there. Also great that if you have small kids they'll put this mesh across your balcony so the kids can't fall through or drop stuff off. I can't wait to go back.
