The Virginia Air and Space Center | kids travel, kids activities
The Virginia Air and Space Center

"Good for the Right Kids"
Not EVERY kid is going to enjoy this place entirely. Kids who are into rocket ships, planets, aviation, space (etc.) will LOVE this place. The displays are nicely done and there are many hands-on features. A younger child will appreciate that museum at another level, but could get a little antsy depending on how you handle things. DEFINITELY go if you have a science/space loving child!!

"Mmm...chocolate"
Located next to the beautiful Lititz Springs Park, the Chocolate Factory is one of the main attractions (if not THE main attraction) in Lititz. Families can go on a little self guided tour to find out about how chocolate is made and a brief history of Wilbur chocolate. Near the fudge counter, there is always a crock full of free Wilbur Buds. Each person can take one of these yummy confectioneries. There is also a huge bin of cocoa beans, which you can take for "good luck" (you can't eat these!). It's nice, in my opinion, for children to see where chocolate comes from. Also, the main attraction, of course, is the gift shop. So, don't go in there unless you plan on buying chocolate!

Julius Sturgis Pretzel Factory Tour | kids travel, kids activities
Julius Sturgis Pretzel Factory Tour
219 East Main Street ,
Lititz,
Pennsylvania 17543
"Great Activity"
Kids get a tour of the factory and learn how pretzels are made. A hard pretzel is your ticket. They never last long, though, as the kids EAT their ticket. HA! Kids (and adults) also get to twist their own pretzel. How cool is that??? Then, you can buy some of their yummy pretzels there in the gift shop. It's an old fashioned type place and historical, too. While you're there, take a walk through downtown Lititz...a very beautiful and quaint place.

"Wait Until Kids are Older"
While I LOVE Sight and Sound, I think it's better for older children. The plays are beautiful, professionally done, and expertly bring Bible stories to life. Some of the subject matter would be difficult for some younger children. However, older elementary children should definitely be given the opportunity to see these Broadway quality shows. It would also probably depend upon the show, too. You might be better off taking younger kids to the Living Waters nearby.

"Should Visit!"
When we were in Boston for a business trip, we stopped here. It was WONDERFUL. Everything is hands-on. My children climbed, played with water, pretended to fly planes, starred in a little video, and much much more. Additionally, Target provides a discount for families if you go on a certain day. Check out the Children's Museum's website for more information. If you are in the area, this is one place you don't want to miss!
